In the June 9 Republican and Democratic primaries, no candidate received majority support. Maine’s ranked choice voting system now comes into play for both contests, a process that could take several days. As part of the RCV process, low-performing candidates will be eliminated and votes for them reallocated to those voters’ next choices until someone gets more than 50%.
