Chef notes
A classic margarita is always a good idea, and this version brings a little Cedar Lakes color to the glass. Blood orange and pomegranate make it festive, slightly sweet, and just tart enough. At Cedar Lakes, we often serve these as tiny welcome cocktails we call “Amuse Booze,” our playful spin on an amuse-bouche, as a first sip for guests arriving at check-in or heading to a ceremony.
Special Kitchen Equipment Required: A rocks glass.
Technique Tip: Always use fresh squeezed lime juice when possible. You get a crisp, bright flavor that store bought juices or mixes can never truly replicate. A whole lime should give you about an ounce of juice.
Swap Option: Any orange liqueur will work here, including Cointreau or triple sec. If blood oranges are out of season, regular orange juice works too.
