Louisiana holds open elections without a partisan primary. If a candidate gets 50% of the vote, they are declared the winner. If not, the top two candidates go to a runoff. In the 2nd Congressional District, five candidates will appear on the ballot: Democrat Troy Carter, the incumbent; Democrat Devin Davis; Republican Christy Lynch; Republican Shondrell Perrilloux; and Republican Devin Graham.
