Voters in Louisiana will cast ballots in the state's six congressional districts. Louisiana holds open elections without a partisan primary. If a candidate gets 50% of the vote, they are declared the winner. If not, the top two candidates go to a runoff. In the 1st Congressional District, five candidates will be on the ballot: Republican Steve Scalise, the incumbent; Republican Randall Arrington; Republican Ross Shales; Democrat Mel Manuel; and Frankie Hyers, who has no party affiliation.
