Bad Bunny helped one couple tie the knot in a very special way: during his Super Bowl halftime show.

The man and the woman, who appeared on the field during the show in a white tuxedo and wedding gown, actually got married during the artist’s performance today, Bad Bunny’s representative said in a news release.

The duo, who were not named in the release, had sent the Puerto Rican musical sensation an invite to their wedding but ended up getting a halftime show invite, instead.

They were married live, with Bad Bunny signing the marriage certificate and a wedding cake being provided, “turning the moment into a joyful celebrating unfolding in real time,” the news release said.

The Super Bowl MVP said this was his dad's first NFL game in person — because he doesn't like crowds.

It even took the help of Walker's agent to finally get Dad into the stadium.

"I wasn't the one that convinced him," Walker said. "Actually, my agent convinced him to come out here, so I didn't think he would come."

Cadillac chose the biggest stage in American sports to reveal the livery of its first-ever Formula 1 car: the Super Bowl.

The team aired a 1-minute ad during the game:

The GM-backed outfit is joining the F1 grid as the 11th team in the 2026 season, which begins next month. Its inaugural driver lineup will be Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas.

It won't get much run on the Super Bowl highlight reels, but it should be noted that Seahawks punter Michael Dickson had an excellent night, booting seven balls for a 48-yard average and putting three of them inside the 20.

He consistently flipped the field on the Patriots in the first half and was crucial to Seattle's winning the field-position battle.

Late in the third quarter, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye dropped back to pass, looking for answers.

As Seattle defenders closed in on him, he tried to step up in the pocket. But defensive end Derick Hall clocked him, knocking the ball out — and a Seattle defender pounced on it.

Several Seahawks went to the end zone and started flapping their arms in celebration as Seattle coach Mike Macdonald pumped his fist on the sideline. As Maye went to get up, he hit his hand against the ground in frustration. He didn’t know it yet, but his night was about to get worse.

Seattle swarmed Maye all game, sacked him six times, forced him into three turnovers and generally gave him little room to breathe as the Seahawks beat the Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl 60.

“It’s crazy. It’s a one-of-a-kind feeling,” Seattle cornerback Devon Witherspoon said in a postgame interview.

Seattle's running back was named Super Bowl 60 MVP with more than 160 scrimmage yards.

He was a force throughout the game, grinding out several key runs to extend Seattle drives en route to the Seahawks' second NFL championship.

Jody Allen, who has controlled the Seahawks since her brother died in 2018, reflected on a "magical season" onstage during the trophy ceremony.

She thanked the coach, the team and the Seahawks' fervent fan base, known as the "12s."

"I have to thank all the 12s that are here with us, all the 12s at watch parties everywhere and all the 12s around the world," she said.

Of all the star wide receivers in Santa Clara tonight, the one with the most yards was ... the Patriots' Mack Hollins, with 78 yards and a touchdown.

Seattle’s Sam Darnold went from NFL castoff to Super Bowl QB.

Now he's a champion, a feat that he credits to those who believed in him.

"All my teammates, all my coaches I ever had, always believing in me," he said in a postgame interview. "And always believing in myself. ... As long as you believe in yourself, anything is possible”

In the end, the Seahawks outgained the Patriots by just 4 yards (335-331), but Seattle gained a majority of those to build its lead in the first half, while the Patriots accumulated most of their yards trying to climb out of an enormous hole.

The Seahawks defense proved to be far too much for Drake Maye over the first three quarters.

Seattle becomes the 17th franchise to win multiple Lombardi trophies.

"A a lot of people, they play their whole careers and never make it this far," he said, calling the win a "dream come true."

The team "went through adversity throughout the season, but we stayed together," he added.

The Seahawks have won their second Super Bowl and scored a measure of revenge for their heartbreaking 2015 loss to New England.

Seattle's previous championship came in a 43-8 blowout of the Denver Broncos on Feb. 2, 2014.

New England fell short of its bid to win the club's first ring without Tom Brady at quarterback.

New England tried a last-gasp onside kick, but Seattle recovered the ball. The Seahwaks were able to run some clock to get inside the two-minute warning.

The Patriots will get the ball back via punt, but they'll need a touchdown, an onside kick and another touchdown.

Maye found Rhamondre Stevenson for a 7-yard touchdown, making the score a little more respectable.

A 2-point try failed, and Seattle's lead is now 29-13.

Uchenna Nwosu called ballgame.

His 44-yard interception for a touchdown has iced it, as Seattle extended its lead to 29-7.

The play was originally called a fumble by Maye but was later called a pick when it was shown that the ball didn't hit the ground.

The artist shared a few behind-the-scenes pictures of himself alongside Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga on X, saying thank you to them, the NFL, Roc Nation and Apple Music for including him in the halftime show.

It's not been "so good" for New England Patriots fans here.

But they, along with a lot of Seattle fans, just belted out the Fenway Park favorite "Sweet Caroline" when the Neil Diamond classic played on the PA system.

Could PK Jason Myers be an underdog candidate for Super Bowl MVP?

His fifth field goal of the game, this latest one from 29 yards out, extended Seattle's lead to 22-7 with 5:35 left in regulation.

Those five field goals are also a record for most field goals in a Super Bowl.

Julian Love's interception of a floating pass from Maye might have just sealed the deal for Seattle.

Even if Seattle doesn't cash in here, the loss of time could doom New England, which needs at least two scores.

After having been evaluated for a concussion and returned to the locker room, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is back on the field for the Seahawks.

Maye found Mack Hollins for a 35-yard TD to finally get New England on the scoreboard — and avoid the ignominy of becoming the first team to ever be shut out in a Super Bowl.

The Patriots, though, inexplicably kicked a PAT instead of going for a 2-point try. New England, down 19, needs a pair of 8s and a field goal. 

Seattle's lead was cut to 19-7.

A shirtless man streaked on the field and briefly stopped the game in one of tonight's most exciting runs.

Patriots WR Kyle Williams gave chase before the man went down to the ground and gave himself up.

New England is perilously close to becoming the first team to ever be shut out in a Super Bowl.

The Patriots have five first downs and 78 total yards in one of the worst offensive performances by any NFL team this season.

Darnold found AJ Barner for a 16-yard touchdown as one of these teams finally found the end zone.

Myers' PAT put Seattle ahead 19-0.

It's going to take a pair of 8s and a field goal for New England, which seems like a tall order for a team with five first downs in 46 minutes of play so far.

In 59 past renditions, there has never been a Super Bowl without a touchdown.

We are one quarter away from history, folks. 

Hall sacked Maye, forcing a fumble recovered by Byron Murphy II.

This could be a decisive moment of the game as the third quarter comes to an end.

Seattle receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has entered the blue tent to be examined.

Midway through the third quarter, he has three catches for 24 yards. Without him out there, this game might be completely devoid of offense the rest of the way.

Internet star Logan Paul was heavily booed when his face was shown on the Levi's Stadium scoreboard.

He responded with a fingers-under-chin gesture.

If the Patriots are going to get back into it, this could be the moment.

New England forced a three-and-out in Seattle territory, and the Patriots took over at their own 27-yard line.

New England just chose to punt on fourth-and-1 situation on its own 40, which is somewhat of a head-scratcher given the game's current state.

The Patriots are down two touchdowns and have only a handful of possessions left.

It's not just the Seattle and New England offenses that are ice cold.

The mercury has fallen to 57 degrees here in a game that had started in warmth and brilliant sunshine.

The Seahawks have simply been the better team in Super Bowl 60.

They’re outgaining the Patriots 252-58, their defense has only allowed four first downs, and their special teams are controlling field position.

The Patriots need a big spark soon, because it’s getting late fast.

The Patriots' bend-but-don't break defense is keeping New England competitive, but Myers' boot from 41 has extended Seattle's lead to 12-0.

Walker has hit triple digits, now having rushed for 100 yards in 17 carries.

That goes along with a pair of catches for 26 yards for the Seattle running back.

Yet another three-and-out for New England.

The Patriots still only have 18 passing yards in what is turning into one of the more putrid offensive performances in Super Bowl history.

This is the 15th Super Bowl in which one team has been shut out in the first half — and as of yet, none of the goose-egg teams have gone on to win.

The median Super Bowl halftime margin is 9, which is the same as tonight.

Seattle's next-to-last snap of the half — Darnold's pass that was nearly intercepted by Gonzalez — was a stark reminder to the Seahawks that they're in control, if turnover-free.

Darnold threw 14 picks in 447 regular season passes, or 1 every 32 throws.

Maye, as rushed as he was in the first half, at least protected ball, something he did well in the regular season. The Patriots QB tossed just eight picks in 492 passes, or 1 every 61.5 attempts.

Bad Bunny just wrapped his historic performance — the first Spanish-language Latin solo artist to headline the acclaimed halftime stage.

His performance featured a myriad of dancers, homages to Puerto Rican culture, songs performed by Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga and a nod to his own Grammy speech last week.

Holding a football that said "Together we are America," he emphasized unity — at a tense time with the Trump administration's immigration crackdown — while shouting out his home Puerto Rico, as well as all Latin American nations.

The event ended with fireworks that showcased the Puerto Rican flag and a jumbotron message that read: "The only thing more powerful than hate is love." The artist shared a similar message while accepting his Grammy for album of the year last weekend.

Brett Ratner’s Trump-fueled career comeback continues, as the filmmaker behind “Melania: Twenty Days to History” has directed a Super Bowl ad for Realfood.gov starring boxer Mike Tyson.

The ad, which Ratner shared on his Instagram account Friday, is a public service announcement for the official website of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s new dietary guidelines.

Ratner was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women in 2017 and had not directed any Hollywood projects since that scandal broke — until the “Melania” documentary, which Amazon bought for $40 million and which opened to $7 million at the box office last weekend. (Ratner has denied the allegations and was never charged.) A push from the president reportedly led Paramount Skydance to agree to distribute Ratner’s “Rush Hour 4” after a number of other studios passed.

The black-and-white Realfood.gov ad is Ratner’s latest White House collaboration, this time featuring Tyson, who was convicted of rape in 1992 and spent three years in prison. In the ad, the boxer describes his sister’s death of a heart attack at age 25 and his own eating habits, which once included eating a “quart of ice cream every hour.”

“We’re the most powerful country in the world and we have the most obese, pudgy people,” Tyson says before laughing and biting into an apple. “Something has to be done about processed food in this country.”

As Bad Bunny wraps his half time performance, Kid Rock takes the stage at the Turning Point USA All-American halftime show.

The show opened with "The Star-Spangled Banner" on electric guitar, as well as fireworks.

Bad Bunny scaled power lines and waved the Puerto Rican flag as he performed "Apagón" in what appeared to be a reference to Hurricane Maria, during which Puerto Rico experienced power outages.

Backup dancers held the flags of countries of the Americas, including the United States and Canada, as they walked on the field behind Bad Bunny, who recited the names.

In another surprise performance, Ricky Martin — a fellow Puerto Rican musical icon — joined the Super Bowl stage for a song.

The halftime stage doubled as an altar for some Super Bowl style nuptials, with a couple tying the knot as Bad Bunny performed. Whether it was a real wedding or not remains to be seen.

Bad Bunny's halftime show featured appearances from several celebrities, including actor Jessica Alba, influencer Alix Earle and artist Cardi B.

Lady Gaga, wearing a blue dress, also performed a salsa version of "Die With a Smile" and shared a dance with Bad Bunny.

Benito's beloved casita caved in with the bumping beats of an old-school reggaeton tribute.

"Gasolina" ushered in the opening notes of Bad Bunny's "EoO."

In Vega Baja, Bad Bunny’s hometown in Puerto Rico, crowds of residents gathered in the town’s square to watch him make history as the first Spanish-language Latin solo artist to headline the Super Bowl halftime show.

Sporting “pavas” and Puerto Rican flags, viewers sat in beach chairs and plastic chairs around a big projector screen propped up at the José Francisco Náter José Francisco Náter.

Residents erupted in cheers as showtime approached amid a festive atmosphere with music artisans and food stalls. The watch party was hosted by Vega Baja Mayor Marcos Cruz Molina.

Halftime in Santa Clara. Seattle dominated the half, yet the 9-0 score doesn’t quite indicate it. It leads in total yards 183-52 and passing yards 88-18.

The Patriots gained 28 yards on their first drive and have yet to eclipse 10 yards in a series since. Quite simply, they are fortunate to still be within striking distance.

New England will get the ball out of half and will have to find a way to move the ball to have any hope of climbing back into this game.

The Patriots’ 51 yards in the first half was bad — but it’s far from the worst offensive performance in the franchise’s long Super Bowl history.

You have to go back to 1986 — New England’s first Super Bowl appearance — for a more dismal stat line.

The Pats were held to minus-19 yards in the first half of Super Bowl 20 against the Bears, whose vaunted defense lifted Chicago to a lopsided 46-10 victory.

The Patriots would lose their second Super Bowl appearance, in 1997 against the Green Bay Packers, before upsetting the then-St. Louis Rams in 2002.

Seattle running back Kenneth Walker III has been the only offensive bright spot so far. He has carried the ball 14 times for 94 yards, including a run of 30 yards. If not for him, this game might be scoreless.

Seattle typically has two lead running backs, but Zach Charbonnet recently tore an ACL, meaning the Seahawks are relying mostly on Walker.

Myers connected from 41 yards out and the Seahawks have what feels like a commanding 9-0 lead with 11 seonds left in the half.

One play earlier, Darnold went for a big play looking for JSN at the goal line. New England corner Christian Gonzalez almost picked it off as the ghost of Malcolm Butler nearly haunted Seattle again.

George Holani's 5-yard run gave Seattle a first down at the New England 30 with 32 seconds left in the half.

The Seahawks have crossed into New England territory with a first down at the 43-yard line.

Another first down would put Seattle in position for a field goal and a two-score halftime lead.

Rap rocker-turned-conservative stalwart Kid Rock will headline an alternative Super Bowl halftime show held by the conservative group Turning Point USA.

The “All Summer Long” singer is set to be joined by country artists Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett in the “All-American Halftime Show.”

The organization provided an update on social media earlier today saying, "Due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to stream The All-American Halftime Show on X." Instead, the show will be entirely streamed on YouTube.

A successful Seattle drive before halftime would really break this game open.

The Seahawks find themselves in prime position to take a two-score lead into the dressing room.

With 2:50 left in the second quarter, Seattle has a first down at its own 43-yard line, in need of just a few first downs to be in position for a field goal.

Maye has been under constant pressure, and even a 9-0 Seattle lead could be tough to overcome.

There are nine Spanish-language terms and phrases typically used by Bad Bunny that may be handy to know before showtime.

Acho, P.R. es otra cosa (AH-cho · PEH-ERRE · ehs · OH-trah · KOH-sah): “Bro, Puerto Rico is something else.” Bad Bunny popularized the phrase during his residency by having celebrities and VIP guests shout it at the crowd to rile them up.

Baile inolvidable (BYE-leh · een-ohl-bee-DAH-bleh): “Unforgettable dance.” This is the title of the dreamy salsa hit from his newest album and the song featured in the NFL trailer promoting his halftime performance. According to Billboard charts, it is Bad Bunny’s third-most streamed song.

Debí tirar más fotos (deh-BEE · tee-RAHR · MAHS · FOH-tohs): “I should have taken more photos.” In addition to being the title of his newest album, it’s the opening lyric of the chorus of the track “DtMF,” Bad Bunny’s top streaming song, according to Billboard charts, in large part thanks to a viral social media trend in which people create videos to the song that honor relatives and friends who have passed away.

Flamboyán (flam-boh-JAHN): “Royal poinciana tree.” Famous for its orange-red flowers that color Puerto Rico’s lush green landscape every summer, this tree was brought by Spanish colonizers from Madagascar in the late 1400s. Since then, Puerto Ricans have adopted it as a cultural emblem that reminds them of their homeland anywhere they go. The tree is showcased in the NFL trailer of the halftime show, and it was a scenography centerpiece for his residency in Puerto Rico.

YHLQMDLG (yeah, we’re not trying a pronouncer for this one): This is shorthand for Bad Bunny’s signature life motto, “yo hago lo que me de la gana,” Spanish for “I do whatever I want” and the title of his Grammy-winning sophomore album.

The Seahawks are outgaining the Patriots 149-37 so far, but the game remains within one score.

Drake Maye and the New England offense will need to improve on their 2.1 yards per play if they want to have a prayer of winning Super Bowl 60.

That was a key stop for the Patriots as the Seahawks had reached the New England 42-yard line.

One more first down could have put Seattle into position for a field goal — and even as young as this game is, a 9-0 lead would've felt significant.

In these 1½ quarters of play, Seattle's defense has surrendered a mere 37 yards in 18 plays.

New England has just three first downs.

It must be a little strange for Seahawks defenders to hear the Levi's Stadium foghorn blaring in advance to key third-down plays.

That's a signature sound of Seattle's archrival, the San Francisco 49ers.

But for this game, which takes place in the Niners' home stadium, it's being used for any big defensive play for either team.

Seattle wide receiver Smith-Njigba, the NFL's offensive player of the year, has been held in check so far.

Quarterback Sam Darnold has targeted him six times, but he has only one catch for 4 yards. Darnold missed Smith-Njigba on one potential deep shot.

We'll see if Darnold can find him next time.

Jason Myers adds his second field goal of the game, this one from 39 yards out, and the Seahawks extend their lead to 6-0. 

The Patriots have to be pleased that it’s still a one-score game even with Seattle's defense dominating so far.

Hollywood icons, sports champions and music legends are among the stars at the Super Bowl today.

Tennis champion Roger Federer, American rocker Jon Bon Jovi, rapper Jay-Z, his daughter Blue Ivy, musician Justin Bieber and wife Hailey, actor Adam Sandler and more were among the celebrities spotted at Levi's Stadium, according to the NFL's social media feed.

Kenneth Walker III is already an early front-runner for MVP with 75 yards on his first seven carries.

New England hasn't had much rhythm on offense so far as Seattle forced another three-and-out.

The Oscar-winning actor Emma Stone teamed back up with director Yorgos Lanthimos ("Bugonia," "Kinds of Kindness" and "Poor Things") for a Squarespace Super Bowl ad.

The spot, which is in black-and-white, is titled “Unavailable.” It features the star finding out a domain name she wants on Squarespace is unavailable.

After Seattle's explosive first four plays of the game, it's been a defensive struggle.

The Seahawks are winning the first down battle, four to three, and in total yards, 65-39.

"Aquí por el Benito Bowl!!!!! Listos!?" actor Kerry Washington wrote in a post in which she's sporting a "Benito Bowl" T-shirt.

"Hamilton" star Lin-Manuel Miranda posted a phot of himself in a jacket that had the Puerto Rican flag on it.

Like Bad Bunny, the musician is from Puerto Rico.

"'I’m rooting for Puerto Rico at halftime.'" he wrote in an Instagram post.

The Seahawks defense, known for its exotic blitzes, is bringing just that against a tentative Drake Maye so far.

The Patriots QB has already been forced to check down several plays to receivers near the line of scrimmage, with barely any success.

The singer and actor, who co-headlined the Super Bowl with Shakira in 2020, posted to Instagram tonight that she's sending Bad Bunny "love, positivity and the biggest hug in the world."

"I know that you are going to kill it! I am here with you the way you were there with me!" she wrote.

He's better known for baseball, but football fans at Levi's Stadium let out a loud cheer for actor Kevin Costner when he as shown on the big screen.

Devon Witherspoon brought down Maye for a punt-forcing third-down sack.

The Patriots have to stay on schedule, as drop-back throws on obvious passing situations just invite Seattle's fearsome pass rush into the backfield.

On third-and-6, as Darnold tried to evade the Patriots' pressure, he saw Jaxon Smith-Njigba, his top receiver, streaking down the field, wide open.

Seattle secured the game's first sack with Derrick Hall bringing down Drake Maye for a 10-yard loss.

That big play helped stall the Patriots' drive and forced a New England punt.

On Seattle's opening drive, a 23-yard pass from Darnold to Cooper Kupp looked awfully close to being incomplete as he appeared to bobble it near the sideline.

The Seahawks hurried to get the next play off so the Patriots couldn't challenge in time. The drive ended in a Seattle field goal.

Seattle's first drive suddenly stalled as the Seahawks failed to convert on third-and-8 from New England's 15-yard line.

The Seahawks, who went 51 yards on nine plays, had to settle for a field goal from Jason Myers, taking a 3-0 lead.

In just four plays, the Seahawks are deep into Patriots territory with three first downs.

Wondering how much money this weekend's big game is bringing to California? Gov. Gavin Newsom estimates it will generate $500 million in economic impact.

The game was expected to bring 90,000 visitors to the Bay Area this weekend. It's the first of a series of sporting events set to bring in billions of dollars to the state. The NBA All-Star Game takes place next weekend.

The coin toss came up heads. New England won the toss and elected to receive the ball at the start of the second half. Seattle will get the ball to start.

It's in the low 60s right now in Santa Clara, with temps expected to fall into the mid-50s as the game progresses. There's not much wind to trouble the kickers.

It's hard to imagine a better day to settle a Super Bowl.

There appears to be a decided edge in favor of the Seahawks when it comes supporters in the stands at Levi's Stadium.

The relatively close proximity from the Emerald City to Northern California surely played in a role in the Seattle edge in fan support.

The Seahawks play here once a year against their NFC West rivals the San Francisco 49ers.

Though the song is considered a political anthem, the band refrained from any political takes they usually do.

Not to be left out across the pond, U.S. athletes in Cortina gave their predictions for the Super Bowl.

Jones, a former Disney Channel star, sang the song. It was "written in 1900 as a hymn by NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson, was used extensively during the Civil Rights Movement as a rallying cry for Black Americans," according to NBC.

“We’re bringing the energy to Super Bowl LX,” Jones said in a December statement about news of her, Charlie Puth and Brandi Carlile being tapped as performers.

Seattle has the better all-around team. The Seahawks’ defense can pressure you, can cover you, and they have the depth to just keep coming. On offense, Seattle has multiple options and can always throw to Jaxson Smith-Njigba, if all else fails.

New England keeps it close because of two people: coach Mike Vrabel and quarterback Drake Maye. Vrabel won the NFL’s Coach of the Year award, and Maye was nearly named the MVP. Vrabel, Maye, and the Patriots are coming. But this is the Seahawks’ year.

The Patriots tend to play in bizarre Super Bowls. Think the "Helmet Catch." Think 28-3. Think, of course, Malcolm Butler.

So, although my head says Seahawks, I have a nagging sense the Patriots feel less pressure. Vrabel is masterful at clock management and strategy and I think it helps New England muster an upset.

Benson Boone isn’t singing on center stage today. Instead, he’s snapping photos of the Seattle Seahawks from the field. 

The team shared a video on X of Boone meeting players and taking photos from Levi’s Stadium ahead of the Super Bowl. 

“Today I’ll be shooting for the Seahawks. I’m from Seattle; this is a big game for me. So let’s go out, take a dub, all right?” he said in the video.

Kickoff for the actual game is at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. That means the halftime show, headlined by Bad Bunny, will likely happen at— you guessed it —the halfway point, around 8-8:30 p.m. ET.

Viewers can watch the game on NBC. Peacock subscribers can also stream the game on the service. The game will also be available in Spanish live on Telemundo.

Former Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron serves as an NBC guest analyst.

The anti-ICE protest not far from Levi's Stadium has already grown into the hundreds, now entirely blocking both lanes of traffic on Mission College Boulevard.

People trying to get through in vehicles are not happy. Drivers have been forced to turn around. Some are laying on the horns. It's testy but not yet adversarial. Some police have arrived, and officers are gathering in the area.

Onetime New York Giants starting QB Tommy DeVito, a homebody who loves his mom's chicken cutlets, was among the Patriots players listed as inactive for the game.

Each team turns in an inactives list before the game, the final announcement of any players missing because of injury.

There were no surprises for either team.

The Patriots other inactives included: Efton Chism III, C.J. Dippre, Marcus Bryant, Caedan Wallace, Bradyn Swinson and Kobee Minor.

Seattle's inactives were third-string QB Jalen Milroe, Robbie Ouzts, Chazz Surratt, Jared Ivey, Mason Richman, Nick Kallerup and Brandon Pili.

For some, Sam Darnold and Drake Maye aren't the headliners here at Levi's Stadium.

Bay Area pals Denise Dettore, 51, and Natalie Owsley, 45, scored Super Bowl tickets, but not for the football. Instead, they're here for the Benito Bowl with the halftime show featuring Bad Bunny and a pregame performance by Brandi Carlile.

Dettore, was disappointed by the blowback against Bad Bunny's selection but hopes the show will bring the six-time Grammy winner rave reviews.

"I would actually rather focus on the positive of the whole situation and what he represents," she told NBC News. "He is unapologetically authentic, and he doesn't change who he is. He's all about inclusivity and love and happiness, and we should all be for that, right?"

Trysta Krick talks about why there is a good chance that three or more players will record pass attempt sin the Super Bowl, sharing why "betting on Super Bowl chaos" is never a bad idea.

Former halftime show performer Katy Perry sent this year's headliner some words of encouragement on X.

The "cutest showdown in sports" ended with Team Fluff defeating Team Ruff.

The Puppy Bowl, which aired on Animal Planet ahead of the actual Super Bowl, welcomed 150 dogs from 72 shelters across the United States, including Puerto Rico, and the British Virgin Islands.

Sportscasters Steve Levy and Taylor Rooks called the event, with referee Dan Schachner wrangling the pups (sorry, players).

The furry athletes were also up for adoption, with viewers encouraged to help them find their forever homes. 

Every year, this reporter wonders just how one can become a Puppy Bowl ref.

With kickoff approaching, members of both teams entered Levi's Stadium donning nods to their culture back home.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel was among those with a Hawaiian lei around his neck made by the mother of defensive lineman Khyiris Tonga.

For the Seahawks, running back George Holani showed off a skirt giving a nod to his birthplace, New Zealand.

Even after Ashleigh Kaplan's brother bought her Super Bowl tickets, the New Hampshire native wasn't sure she'd make the big game — as she was undergoing treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Then came the good news — just days ago, she was told she was in remission. The breast cancer survivor was suddenly headed for Northern Calfornia.

"I didn't know if we ever thought we'd be in good enough spirits to come all the way to California for this," said Kaplan, whose husband just happens to be a Seattle Seahawks fan. "And we got it all cleared at the last second."

There's a supersized special at the site of this year's Super Bowl. This $180 cheeseburger features a braised bone-in beef shank, roasted mirepoix demi-glace and Point Reyes bleu cheese fondue on a baked brioche bun.

The stadium will be serving only 200 of these delicacies today. Jason Kelce already took a bite out of this super burger ahead of the big game, and he says it's his kind of sandwich.

About 100 anti-ICE protesters have begun gathering along Mission College Boulevard, which is about a mile from Levi’s Stadium.

The crowd was steadily growing an hour before the demonstration was scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. PT. Cars have been driving by and honking, sparking cheers from the crowd, but so far people appear to be standing by and getting ready.

NFL analyst Kyle Dvorchak discusses how Drake Maye's shoulder should be "just fine" and how he expects the quarterback to bounce back for the Big Game from a drop off in his performance throughout the playoffs.

Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden took a stroll down memory lane in Oakland last week, paying tribute to the town where champions once played.

Gruden, who won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaners, walked the grounds of Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, where he once coached the Raiders in two stints. 

The Coliseum and the neighboring Oakland Arena were once a hub of American sports greats as the Raiders, the Athletics and the Warriors, all of which won titles for the East Bay.

North America's four major sports leagues have all vacated Oakland, with the Raiders and the Athletics leaving in recent years for Las Vegas.

Matthew Berry, Jay Croucher and Connor Rogers review top longest pass, rush and completion props for the Super Bowl.

Davidson College applied mathematician Tim Chartier and student Ellis Sriram ran 1,000 overtime simulations and concluded that offense-first is the best strategy.

There were 14 OT games in the 2025 regular season, and the possession-first teams went 7-6-1. The team that kicked off lost both overtime games of the playoffs.

And in their 1,000 simulations, using some commonense OT logic, the team that started the fifth period on offense won 523 times, the mathematicians said.

“The fallacy [of going on defense first] is that it gives you a false sense of control,” Sriram said. “It’s much easier when you know exactly what you have to do, right? It takes a lot of the pressure off of the coaches. The players have a clear goal in mind, and you’re going all out.

“When you know you need a touchdown, that doesn’t become any easier to score a touchdown,” Sriram added.

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye became an MVP candidate while leading all qualified passers in completion percentage. In only his second season, he has become adept at protecting the ball, as well, committing multiple turnovers in only three games.

The playoffs have been a different story, however, with Maye responsible for five turnovers while completing 55.8% of his passes. To put that in perspective, he completed less than 60% of his passes in just one of his 17 regular-season games.

Maye also could be dealing with injury; he was listed on the team's injury report as a limited participant in practice because of his right throwing shoulder.

But for all of his struggles throwing, Maye has been superb as a runner, with 66 rushing yards in the wild-card win against the Chargers and 65 rushing yards, including a touchdown, against Denver, when snowy conditions turned passing into a no-win proposition.

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald both declined to say whether they’d kick off or go on offense if the score were tied after four quarters.

A tie score at the end of the game means overtime, when both teams will get the chance to possess the ball.

The first 50 Super Bowls ended after 60 minutes, but two of the last nine title needed extra time to settle.

“We have conversations, and we’ll continue to talk about it,” said a noncommittal Vrabel. “A lot of this depends on their kickoff return, where the ball goes on touchbacks, how good the field goal kickers are. There’s just a lot that goes into it.”

Macdonald also declined to reveal the team's offense- or defense-first plans, though his track record already speaks for itself. When his Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams were tied after 60 minutes in Week 16, Seattle won the OT coin toss and elected to kick.

Taylor Swift has been to consecutive Super Bowls to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce, but a three-peat doesn't seem to be in the cards.

While Kelce was spotted at Super Bowl-related events in the Bay Area last week, there has been no sighting of his world-famous fiancée.

Kelce even said on his sister-in-law's podcast this week that he has been assigned by Swift to keep track of everyone he has met during Super Bowl week and spill tea to her later — a not-so-subtle hint that she won't be at Levi's Stadium today.

Anti-ICE protesters are out ahead of today's Super Bowl.

While driving to the stadium from San Francisco to Santa Clara on the 101, NBC News saw about five overpasses clogged with “Ice Out” protests.

Sitting in traffic outside the stadium, a group of protesters started handing out hand towels calling for protests in the satdium.

A QR code on the towel, which also features allusions to Bad Bunny and Green Day, goes to a statement calling for people attending the game to put up their towels anytime a referee throws a penalty flag.

Have you heard the news that Sam Darnold has made his first Super Bowl while playing on his fifth team? It's one of the dominant storylines of the week, after the former No. 3 overall pick in 2018 has resurrected his career after second (and third, and fourth...) chances.

But research by NBC Sports lays out just how rare it is for such a late-career breakthrough. Darnold joins Chris Chandler (Atlanta Falcons) and Earl Morrall (Baltimore Colts) as the only quarterbacks to make the Super Bowl on their fifth team or later.

In Seattle’s 31-27 win over the Rams in the NFC championship game, Darnold threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns with no turnovers — the type of performance in a high-stakes game that, given the way he was traded, released and given up on by his four previous teams, few believed Darnold was capable of during his winding, eight-year path through the NFL.

“You can’t talk about the game without talking about our quarterback,” Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. “He just shut a lot of people up tonight, so I’m really happy for him.”

For the geographically challenged, San Francisco’s famed Transamerica Pyramid and the Golden Gate Bridge are a solid hour's drive from the site of Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara.

The moniker attached to today’s big game, the “San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl,” has mildly irked swaths of this nine-county, 7.5 million-resident region, where non-415 locals have long chafed over automatic association with the region’s famed city of cable cars and sourdough bread.

“So that’s their choice to do that. I can’t speak to that being right or wrong,” said diplomatic Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO Harbir Kaur Bhatia, biting her tongue when asked about San Francisco-heavy imagery of the Super Bowl logo. “All I can say is I hope that we’ll showcase what the Silicon Valley has to offer, to be an equally good choice and sometimes better for the [NFL] visitor due to our proximity of Levi’s Stadium.”

A bulk of cultural events attached to the Super Bowl were staged in San Francisco, where the hometown 49ers played last played in 2013. The Niners left Candlestick Park for Levi's — but kept the name “San Francisco.”

One of the surprise's of the NFL season was the Patriots' turnaround. After going 4-13 in 2024, New England fired its coach and hired Mike Vrabel, who had previously played linebacker for the Patriots during the Bill Belichick era. The move had immediate dividends: New England went 14-3 this season and is now playing in the Super Bowl.

On Thursday, the NFL named Mike Vrabel coach of the year.

Vrabel had previously coached the Tennessee Titans, where he went 54-45 over six seasons. He's considered a great in-game coach, who creates advantages in the margins, like on substitution patterns and managing the clock.

With kickoff just hours away, President Donald Trump predicted a "great" Super Bowl in a video message posted by the White House on social media.

“I have a feeling this is going to be a great Super Bowl. I’ve watched all season. I’ve seen these two teams just win, win, win,” said the president, seated behind the Resolute Desk.

The video comically cuts out just as Trump is about the reveal who he’s picked to win the game. 

The president is not attending the Super Bowl this year. He was the first sitting U.S. president to do so last year, but this year will instead attend a watch party in Palm Beach, Florida.

“It’s just too far away,” he told the New York Post. In that same interview, he criticized Green Day and Bad Bunny, who are both set to perform tonight.

“I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice,” he told the publication. “All it does is sow hatred.”

Prediction markets were banned from advertising during today’s broadcast of the big game, but that didn’t stop Kalshi from employing some throwback attention seeking.

The gambling workaround platforms have opened new avenues for game-related investments, especially in anti-sports betting California.

Behind a new coach and a young star quarterback, the Patriots are returning to the Super Bowl for the first time since Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

And rival fans aren’t thrilled.

Tom Brady left in 2020. Until this season, the Patriots hadn’t been in the playoffs since Jan. 15, 2022, when the Bills — who had lost 15 consecutive times to Belichick’s Patriots over one eight-year stretch — routed New England by 30.

“I was enjoying seeing them struggle," Ariel Helwani, a sports commentator, told NBC News last year. "I was enjoying seeing them drown a little bit. I was enjoying seeing them have losing seasons and being a little bit dysfunctional. It was all very nice and I was hoping for a few more years of it.”

Autonomous vehicles have been zipping through the streets of Northern California for some time now, but it’s perhaps the first time they’ll be interacting with the public at a Super Bowl.

Thousands of people and cars will undoubtedly flood the streets, but the self-driving car company has projected confidence. When reached by NBC News to see if any preparations were being made in light of the crowds, the company said its fleet of over 1,000 vehicles will be ready to travel in much of its normal San Jose to San Francisco coverage area.

Waymo added that safety is a foremost priority and it's using recent events to help it learn. 

Can linebacker Ernest Jones IV and the Seattle defense keep Drake Maye in the pocket? Maye has shown he’s a threat to scramble. In the AFC championship game, he ran 10 times for 65 yards and sealed the game on a QB keeper in the snow.

Jones is an active, athletic linebacker in the center of the Seattle defense, who’s often asked to drop back into coverage. He has five interceptions this season, a high number for a non-defensive back. If Seattle can pressure Maye, and keep him from scrambling, it could be a long night for the young Patriots’ quarterback.

As Super Bowl 60 festivities were kicking off in San Francisco last Monday, a small series of earthquakes hit the Bay Area.

The biggest quake was a magnitude 4.3 that struck shortly after 7 a.m. near San Ramon, according to the United States Geological Survey’s ShakeAlert.

There were no immediate reports of major damage, according to The Associated Press.
