New York features some of the most disputed congressional districts after Republicans made gains there in the 2022 midterms. The race in New York’s 4th Congressional District is one in which Republicans are trying to protect vulnerable incumbent Anthony D’Esposito, a freshman who won the seat in a surprise in 2022. He’s being challenged by Democrat Laura Gillen, an attorney. The race in New York’s 17th Congressional District is a rematch between Republican Michael Lawler, who won in 2022, and Democrat Mondaire Jones, who was previously the representative for the district but was ousted in the last election. The race in New York’s 19th Congressional District pits Republican incumbent Marcus Molinaro against Josh Riley, a Democratic lawyer who previously worked in Congress as an aide in both the House and Senate.
