Florida State Supreme Court Retention

Florida voters will decide whether to retain two members of the state Supreme Court: Justice Meredith Sasso and Justice Renatha Francis. Both of their terms expire on Jan. 7. Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed both justices. In Florida, justices are appointed and serve at least one year before standing for a retention vote in the next general election. If approved by the voters, both judges will serve a six-year term. No judge has lost a retention vote in Florida.
