Third-grade math teacher Shelby Lattimore has been teaching her students about “classroom economy” where she teaches them different ways to be mindful of spending and budgeting. On the first of every month, Lattimore’s students pay her $7 in play money for their desks and chairs. They can earn money through jobs like feeding the class pet and taking up other responsibilities around the classroom. Lattimore has also taken to TikTok where the TikTok Creator Fund has helped keep her from taking up a second job.
