It’s time to start pulling your cable-knit, Fair Isle and wool sweaters out of retirement, which means it’s also time to clean or polish them up — a fabric shaver will be your best friend during fall and winter. This popular electric version from Walmart clears pills and lint from clothes, and it’s over 50% off — putting it at just under $15 — for a limited time.
The device has nearly 1,400 combined four- and five-star ratings, and people who own it say that it’s also great for removing pilling on upholstered furniture, too. Below, I talk more about why it’s worth getting before the discount ends.
Deal of the day
This rechargeable electric fabric shaver is one of the best tools to help get rid of lint and pilling from tons of different fabrics and apparel. It has three easy-to-use speed settings and the brand recommends using the first one for things like socks, scarves and pants, the second one for sweaters and furniture covers and the third one for heavier items like coats and jackets. It uses six stainless steel blades to get rid of lint, fuzz and pilling on the surface of fabric while also sucking them up like a vacuum, which means no big mess on your floors after you use it.
The device is also gentle enough to use on delicates like cashmere, and even synthetic materials, according to the brand. Plus, it can run for up to three hours at a time on a single charge. Many people who bought the fabric shaver also say they love it because it’s lightweight. The compact size makes it ideal for travel; it’ll fit in a carry-on or even a personal item if you’re someone who packs really light.
Why this deal is worth it
This deal is worth it because it’s more than 50% off and it’s a practical item you’ll get a lot of use out of. It’s great for apparel like sweaters and jackets, but it also works on blankets and upholstery. Additionally, reviewers say that the battery lasts a very long time.
- A sweater weather must-have
- Over 50% off
- Works on bedding and furniture
