The MacBook Air may be one of the best laptops for the dollar, but the MacBook Pro will always have my heart. It’s got a few key upgrades over the Air, things that I personally can’t live without. The base model, the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M4) is at its lowest price ever right now — it’s a great time to buy if you’ve been looking for an upgrade.
Apple MacBook Pro (M4) deal
While this isn’t the most powerful MacBook Pro you can buy, it has some significant upgrades over any MacBook Air on the market. It has a longer, up to 24 hour battery life, 512GB of storage space and clearer, richer built-in speakers and microphones. But the biggest upgrade is to the screen: it’s brighter, faster, higher resolution and supports HDR content.
One of the main reasons I choose it over the MacBook Air is connectivity: the Pro has three USB-C ports, an HDMI port and an SD card port. Being able to easily connect extra screens, wired keyboards, and SD cards without using a dongle is simple and convenient.
It’s a touch heavier (and pricier) than the MacBook Air, but I think it’s worth it.
