The Carter Center announced Saturday that the 39th president of the United States decided to receive hospice care instead of “additional medical intervention” after a series of recent hospital stays. The 98-year-old and oldest living president will spend the rest of his days in Plains, Georgia alongside Rosalynn, his wife of more than 70 years.
