The stepmother of a Detroit boy who was missing for 11 days before he was found in his dad’s basement appeared in court Friday morning following her arrest a day earlier on a parole violation.

Monique Dillard-Bothuell's arrest was not related to 12-year-old Charlie Bothuell's disappearance. The woman had previously been convicted for buying a gun without a permit, WDIV reported.

A hearing for Dillard-Bothuell was scheduled for July 11. The judge ruled she should be released until then on a $5,000 personal bond and wear an electronic tether, WDIV reported.

Her stepson went missing for nearly a dozen days and was found Wednesday in the basement of the home he shared with his father, Charles Bothuell IV and Dillard-Bothuell near downtown Detroit.
