Improvements have arrived for Google's free Translate app, which, as you may guess, lets you translate both spoken and written words in an instant. The conversation mode, which automatically translates sentences as they're spoken, now automatically recognizes the language being used, saving you a step. The "Word Lens" feature now translates text you've taken a picture of even when you're offline — previously you had to have a good connection to upload the photo to be translated in the cloud.
Both features are also coming to the iOS version of the app for the first time, so iPhone users now have a chance to test out Word Lens and Conversation mode. The updates should be live now, so head to the App Store or Play Store and hit the download button.
