Canadian fighter plans launched their first airstrikes against ISIS since joining the U.S.-led coalition against the militants, Canada's defense minister said in a statement. Canada is reeling from two separate apparent terror attacks on Canadian Parliament and military personnel.
Canada's defense minister, Rob Nicholson, said in a statement Sunday that F-18s dropped 500-pound laser-guided bombs on ISIS targets in the area of Fallujah, Iraq, in a four-hour mission. He did not provide further details, but said the strike demonstrates Canada's "firm resolve" to fight terrorism and stand with its allies against ISIS "atrocities against innocent women, children and men."
