A 20-year-old woman was shot and killed by her father while the two were hunting in Oregon, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel responded to the "reported hunting accident" on Thursday morning in an area north of Myrtle Creek, but attempts to save the woman’s life were unsuccessful, officials said.

Douglas County has activated its Major Crimes Team to investigate the incident further. The identities of the father and daughter have not been released.
