Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York will update reporters at 10:30 a.m. ET on the city’s response to Ebola.

Dr. Craig Spencer, who contracted Ebola while working for Doctors Without Borders and treating patients in Guinea, is being treated in a city hospital.

After the New York case was diagnosed, Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York ordered 21-day quarantines for health workers returning from Ebola-stricken countries, a step that some federal officials have criticized as unnecessary and counterproductive.
