The mother of Abdul Rahman Kassig, the American captive threatened with execution by ISIS, made another plea to the terror group Thursday, begging the Islamist militants that have seized large parts of Syria and Iraq to get in contact with the family.

“We have tried to contact you directly to plea for the life of our only son, Abdul Rahman Kassig, and have not received any response," Paula Kassig said in a post to Twitter. “Please tell us what more we can do so that Adbul Rahman may continue to serve and live his life in accordance with the teachings of Islam.”

Kassig, 26, of Indiana, was working as a humanitarian aid worker in Syria when he was captured by ISIS in October of 2013. Kassig, who was born Peter Kassig but changed his name after converting to Islam, was threatened with execution in an ISIS video released by the terror group Oct. 1 that showed the beheading of British aid worker Alan Henning.

The Kassig family has made pleas to the terror group twice before, on Oct. 4 and again on Oct. 14, begging for them to contact the family. Kassig said in a letter to his parents in June that he was “pretty scared to die,” and urging them to “seek refuge and comfort” in the fact that he was providing humanitarian relief when he was captured.
