A Spanish nurse's aide who was infected with Ebola may have contracted the virus when her gloves touched her face as she took off her protective suit, a doctor treating her said on Wednesday. "During the course of the morning we looked at actions taken when [the nurse’s aide] put on her protective suit," Dr. German Ramirez said outside Madrid's Carlos III hospital. "She has told us of the possibility that her suit had contact with her face ... it could have been an accident." Ramirez added: "It looks like it was the gloves."

The hospital did not provide any updates on the patient's condition. Teresa Romero Ramos, 44, on Monday became the first person infected outside of West Africa after caring for a Spanish priest who died of Ebola last month. She is now in isolation, as is her husband, Javier Limon. Her dog also faces being put down.
