Maybe they’re just all watching the World Cup? The release of Brazil's May unemployment rate has been postponed due to a strike at the national statistics agency IBGE, the agency said on Thursday. The data was due out at 9 a.m. (1200 GMT) on Thursday. The strike affected analysis of data from two metropolitan areas, Salvador and Porto Alegre, IBGE said. Public opinion of the government in Brazil has dropped in recent polls. Brazil’s gross domestic product expanded by just 2.3 percent last year.
