Meredith Corp. set to launch a new magazine aimed at Hispanic women.

Meredith Corp., publisher of such magazines as Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies' Home Journal, will launch a new magazine aimed at Hispanic women, the company announced Wednesday.

The bimonthly Siempre Mujer! will make its debut next fall with an initial circulation rate base of 350,000.

"We believe that our strong editorial expertise and in-depth understanding of the shelter and women's lifestyle categories will enable us to create a magazine that speaks to the priorities of Hispanic women, their families and their homes," Jack Griffin, president of Meredith's publishing group, said in a statement.

Meredith cites census figures showing that within the next decade, one in five new homeowners will be Hispanic. The Hispanic market represents $600 billion in annual spending power, expected to grow to $1 trillion by the year 2010, a company statement said.

Johanna Buchholtz-Torres, formerly editor of Ser Padres magazine, will serve as editor in chief of the new magazine.

Meredith publishes 17 magazine brands, also including More and American Baby, and about 150 special interest publications. The company also owns or operates 14 television stations.
