MSNBC’s “Hardball Heroes Tour” kicks off Tuesday, Jan. 25, as anchor Chris Matthews takes “Hardball” on the road to Camp Pendleton, Calif. with a special tribute to the U.S. Marine Corps. The “Hardball Heroes Tour” special telecasts Tuesday, Jan. 25, 7-8 p.m., repeating 11 p.m.-12 a.m. ET and Wednesday, Jan. 26, 9-10 p.m. ET.

Former “Tonight Show” announcer Ed McMahon, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps, joins Matthews to remember the great Johnny Carson.

Other guests on next week’s “Hardball Heroes Tour” include California First Lady Maria Shriver and notable Marines including actor Brian Dennehy and Fred Smith, the founder of Federal Express. The special also features a performance by the U.S. Marine Corps band and cheerleaders from the San Diego Chargers.

“Hardball” will also take viewers on a tour of a Cobra helicopter and get a live report from Fallujah, Iraq as the Marines continue to fight the war on the ground just days before the Iraqi election.
