Flash flood warnings are issued for some North Texas counties today after weekend storms that led to high water rescues and caused at least one death in Central Texas.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued a flash flood warning until 4 p.m. Monday for Tarrant, Dallas, Ellis and Johnson counties and a flash flood watch for the area until 10 p.m. Conditions are favorable for heavy rain, which has led to flooding along area rivers.
NBC 5 Meteorologist Rebecca Miller reported just before noon Monday that more than 5 inches of rain had fallen in Lancaster, while Red Oak received 4 inches of rain Monday morning.
Parts of the Fort Worth Zoo were also under water early Monday afternoon.
Satellite and radar estimates suggested that up to 6 inches of rain fell across southern Dallas County Monday morning with additional rainfall expected across the same area, according to the National Weather Service.
Several high water rescues have also been reported from Mansfield and the southern part of Fort Worth Monday morning, while road flooding was reported in Lancaster, Mansfield and surrounding areas.

Flooding also caused problems in Houston, where some parts of the city have recorded more than 32 inches of rain this month alone.
Authorities said one man is dead and a building was leveled during severe weather in Milam County.
Sheriff Charlie West told the Bryan-College Station Eagle that he suspected a tornado was responsible for destroying a shop between Hearne and Cameron.
Eugene Nekush, 72, of Mayfield, was killed, authorities said. Another man who had been in the building was unhurt. Police said Nekush was found beneath a door.
National Weather Service officials were planning to visit Milam County to confirm whether the storm spawned a tornado. Trees were overturned along a farm road, and several area roads were closed due to high water.
The stormy weather in North Texas will continue into Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures in the upper 80s to 90 degrees.
