Scoot Airlines recently launched a child-free zone on their air-crafts. Would you pay an extra free to avoid unwanted cries during your flight?

These days flying seems to be as much fun as getting a root canal. After delays and endless lines, you are finally on board, sitting in a cramped airplane seat that offers the average person just enough leg room so your knees only slightly touch the seat in front of you. And just when the situation couldn’t be any worse, cue the crying baby in the seat behind you.

There is now an option to avoid at least one of those harrowing travel situations. Recently, Singapore Airline’s budget carrier, Scoot Airlines, announced an alternative. For $14, customers can buy an upgrade that would put them in the 41-seat “ScootinSilence” area. The area consists of 5 rows (rows 21-25) where children under 12 are not allowed to sit.

Scoot Airlines joins Air Asia X, which also offers child-free zones. Air Asia X started its “quiet zone” in February.

No airline company in the United States has yet to offer such an option.

Would you pay an additional $14 to sit in a child-free zone?
