Saudi Arabia’s security forces have arrested 10 supporters of slain al-Qaida militant Abdulaziz al-Moqrin, Al Arabiya television reported on Saturday.

Moqrin, the top al-Qaida leader in Saudi Arabia, was killed on Friday after his group beheaded U.S. engineer Paul Johnson.

Arabiya, quoting security sources, said the arrests took place on Friday night in the Saudi capital Riyadh. It said the 10 people seized were members of al-Qaida and were believed to be part of the same cell as al-Moqrin.

Moqrin and two other senior militants were gunned down by security forces in Riyadh on Friday as they disposed of Johnson’s body. The American engineer was kidnapped by the group and was killed after the Saudi government refused to free Islamist prisoners by a Friday deadline set by the cell.
