The "Gumby Robber" and his alleged accomplice are charged with three counts, the District Attorney’s Office says.

The infamous "Gumby Robber" and his alleged accomplice were charged with three counts of burglary Friday, the San Diego District Attorney’s office said.

Jacob Kiss, 19, and Jason Giramma, 20, are accused of robbing a 7-Eleven store in Rancho Penasquitos last month. The DA announced the charges Friday afternoon.

Police said Kiss was dressed as the cartoon character Gumby as he allegedly attempted to rob the store, but the clerk thought he was playing a prank, so Kiss left empty handed. Giramma allegedly drove the getaway car.

Kiss and Giramma turned themselves in after robbery unit detectives identified them. They were interviewed by the San Diego Police Department, which confiscated the Gumby costume.

They will be arraigned Nov. 7 in a San Diego superior court.
