Police have charged a man with neglecting his invalid mother, whose body was infested with maggots as she lay dying.
Brian White, 33, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and failing to provide for a functionally impaired person.
His father, Darrel White, pleaded guilty in November to reckless homicide and failing to provide for a functionally impaired person.
Darrel White was sentenced to a Veterans Administration mental health treatment program and five years probation upon completion of the sentence.
Investigators said 46-year-old Jorene White was bedridden and her husband was her sole caretaker.
Police responded to a 911 call at the Whites' home on July 23 to find Jorene White dead in filthy conditions, covered in flies and maggots.
But investigators discovered that while they originally thought Jorene White had been dead for a week, an autopsy revealed that she had been dead for only about a day, indicating that the maggots were feeding on her while she was alive.
The autopsy determined that White died of a blood infection, and prosecutors said Darrel White didn't seek treatment as she became more ill.
Investigators did not discuss the son's role in his mother's death.
