An Apopka woman is recovering Monday after falling into a 10-foot sinkhole.
Linda Sharpe was walking her cocker spaniel, Bounce, when she fell into the hole, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.
Bounce managed to avoid falling in the hole and ran away, but two neighborhood boys noticed the dog running loose, and that led to the discovery of Sharpe.
More than 50 firefighters, including two Orange County special-operations units, worked for three hours to get her out.
"We went up to the house, where we thought it belonged, and they said it was there dog but didn't konw where their mother was, so we walked outside and saw her in the hole," Nathan Lundberg said.
"At first, she was kind of freaked out and crying, and then after we called 911, she was laughing and talking," Pierce Monetti said.
Sharpe was taken to Florida Hospital-Apopka with no serious injuries. Bounce is doing well too.
