Four police officers were shot executing a search warrant in New Jersey, and two of them have been taken to an area hospital, authorities said Thursday.

Lakewood Police Deputy Chief Michael Mohel said an officer who was struck in the face and another who was shot in the foot were taken to a hospital. Two other officers sustained minor injuries when they were shot in their bulletproof vests.

Mohel said the members of the tactical unit were serving a no-knock narcotics and weapons warrant around 2:25 a.m. Thursday when Jamie Gonzalez opened fire.

Mohel said Gonzalez was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
