The elegant Balmoral sets sail on Oct. 23 and after giving passengers a chance to get used to their “sea legs” it will first call on Shelburne, Nova Scotia – one of Canada’s undiscovered gems. Wander through antique and gift shops or take a leisurely lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants before sailing on to Halifax. This lively port offers visitors numerous parks and hidden coves, in addition to numerous museums — including the Titanic exhibition.
After, the ship continues to Sydney followed by a stop in the tiny French-influenced town of St. Pierre. Next the ship sails on to St. John’s in Newfoundland where passengers can take a stroll along the water or have a pint in a classic Irish pub before making the four-day trek across the Atlantic. The journey continues after the ocean crossing with a visit to Cork, Ireland, which serves as an excellent place to pick up a few homemade souvenirs before reaching the final port of call in Dover.
