This morning colon cancer survivors made their stories heard at the Big Dam Bridge for the 2nd annual "Big Dam Problem" Colorectal Cancer walk. They say there are more than 1,600 new cases of colon cancer in Arkansas each year and nearly 150,000 nationwide. People from around the country united to share similar stories and raise awareness for the dangerous disease which they say should not be too taboo to talk about. "This is one of the most treatable and preventable cancers if you talk about it and you go to your doctor and tell them these are my problems or something doesn't feel right. But people are embarrassed to talk about it and you shouldn't be," said Lori Smith, a colon cancer survivor for 14 years. If you want to get involved an event starting at 9 oclock tonight at the Cornerstone Pub in North Little Rock will benefit the Colon Club. Read more atarkansasmatters.com.
