French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner says France is still sending advisers to support Somalia's government and security even though one French security agent remains in the hands of kidnappers.

Kouchner says he knows nothing about when and if the agent will be released. He says the man is being held by a group that is "not easy."

He told reporters in Paris on Friday that France is still sending advisers as part of a pledge to help train Somali police.

He said he hoped the escape of another agent held by Somali kidnappers earlier this week would not have any effect on the agent still held hostage.

The agent, Marc Aubriere, escaped Wednesday after over a month in captivity while his kidnappers slept.
