NBC 25 - A Flash Flood Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for Frederick County, MD Loudoun County, VA until 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

Heavy rainfall is expected throughout the day, and has already occurred over portions of Washington and Frederick counties Friday morning.

Additional showers and thunderstorms will develop later in the day, and may produce torrential downpours given the extremely moist air mass.

Low-lying areas on roadways may be quick to flood with any substantial downpour. Therefore, do not attempt to cross any roadway that appears flooded.

Streams and creeks may also spill out of their banks with any prolonged heavy rain event.
