Lights, camera, action! Or should we say “Deal or No Deal.” The popular game show is now taping in Waterford, and some Connecticut residents got a front row seat.

“I’ve seen the show on TV, and it would be great to see someone win some money, you know, just see how everybody does,” said Christina Allen of Ledyard.

“We just wanted to check it out, want to see what it’s like, couldn’t be in the cast, so come and watch it,” said Alana Tuccillo of Southington.

Thursday was the third day of taping since “Deal or No Deal” moved to its new studio in Waterford. The town couldn’t be happier for the added business the show brings. The show’s host couldn’t be happier about the energetic crowds.

“The energy in the room is a lot more exciting than it has been in the past, which is better for us, makes it more fun for us, we’re thrilled to be here,” said Howie Mandel, host of “Deal or No Deal.”

Not mention Connecticut is quite different from California.

"My family comes out with me and they enjoy the restaurants and the water, the sunshine, well the rain, but it’s a great place to be,” said Mandel.

But the main reason everyone flocked to Waterford was to make the winning deal and take home the big bucks.

"Maybe car payments, house payment, a trip to the Caribbean, retirement,” said Robert McNitt of Wayland, Mass., when asked what he would do with the money.

“I couldn’t sleep! I had the nervous knots! I’m super excited! I can’t wait to see them open those cases. The excitement, the energy in here is just overwhelming, it’s great!” said Keni James of Brooklyn, N.Y.

“Deal or No Deal” is still accepting applications for contestants, so if you want to be on the show, you can apply online or go to a tryout at Foxwoods on August 20, 2009.
