CORPUS CHRSITI - Sharks Head Coach Mike Trigg points all fingers at himself when considering the team won just two out of their 15 games.
Triggs will be on the sidelines for the season finale against Rio Grande Saturday and anything beyond that day is a question mark.
Through 15 games, one stat can tell the Sharks story: 50 turnovers. Only one of the AF2's 25 teams has been worse, but Trigg admitted it was character issues that created another kind of turnover and torpedoed the season.
"We have 26 people that have gone through our doors that have been relieved through suspension or simply being waived; that's really more than our entire roster is, to boot, right now," Trigg said.
The sobering statistic is one Trigg takes responsibility for, at a time when he fully admits his future with the team is on the line.
"It's my job to provide the opportunity for us to win and surround the locker room with quality players and guys who can get it done on the field and off the field," Trigg said. "They're either going to look at this as a developmental process and these things happen from time-to-time, or they'll just put the moniker that you have to win and they'll have to make other decisions. I'm a big boy and I've been through this before. I understand what pro sport is all about. I certainly feel like I need to do a better job myself."
