A church volunteer accused of taking home an 11-month-old girl while working in the nursery has been arraigned on charges of kidnapping and unlawful life imprisonment in Michigan.

Judge Sara Smolenski set bond at $100,000 on Monday for 19-year-old Tabitha Marie Reid, a volunteer at Kentwood Community Church in the Grand Rapids area. The kidnapping charge is punishable by up to life in prison.

The Grand Rapids Press says nursery workers noticed the baby was missing Sunday afternoon while doing a routine check on children.

WOOD-TV reports that a surveillance system confirmed the volunteer was the last person seen with the baby.

Reid's preliminary hearing is set for July 7. The court says she does not yet have a lawyer.
