A grand jury has indicted the former leader of the now-defunct Your Black Muslim Bakery group in connection with the 2007 killing of an Oakland, Calif., journalist.

Prosecutors say the indictment handed down Wednesday in Alameda County accuses 23-year-old Yusuf Bey IV of ordering three murders, including that of Oakland Post editor Chauncey Bailey. The indictment also names another bakery associate in the killings.

The indictment follows testimony before the grand jury by Devaughndre Broussard, a former bakery handyman already charged with murder in the Bailey shooting.

Your Black Muslim Bakery was founded in the 1960s to peddle healthy baked goods and help ex-criminals get their lives together.
