A northern Indiana coroner was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated soon after state troopers had also arrested his son for possible drunken driving.

State police said a trooper stopped a 19-year-old Sunday night for going 73 mph in a 60 mph zone. They found he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.17 percent — more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Troopers contacted his father, the county coroner, to pick up the vehicle, but said they found he also was intoxicated. Police said his blood-alcohol level was 0.10 percent.

State police said both were booked into jail on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated.
