Police say a roadside bomb has seriously wounded a provincial lawmaker and two of his guards in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar.
City police chief Liaquat Ali said Wednesday's attack destroyed the vehicle of Aurangzeb Khan.
Khan is from the ruling Awami National Party, which has supported military operations against Islamist militants in the North West Frontier Province bordering Afghanistan.
Ali said Khan was seriously wounded and taken to hospital along with the guards.
Khan's brother was killed in a suicide attack in Peshawar last year.
Peshawar has experienced a wave of attacks since mid-October, when Pakistani security forces launched a major offensive against the Taliban's main stronghold in the nearby South Waziristan tribal area.
