Copy protection software maker Macrovision Corp. on Monday announced a licensing agreement with a leading set-top box manufacturer.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the deal, the undisclosed manufacturer will have the rights to use Macrovision's Connected Platform within the manufacturer's digital set-top boxes in the North American cable market. The deal is aimed at improving next-generation set-top boxes to allow consumers to access, share and manage digital content within their homes.
Shares of Macrovision fell 4 cents to $24.59.
