Southeast Texas is reeling from a storm that dropped up to 16 inches of rain in some areas.
Authorities had to rescue several people from boats, including a four-year-old boy.
The rain forced the cancellation of some Memorial Day events, stalled cars and caused water to rise three inches in a few homes.
The National Weather Service says Eastern Chambers County received up to 16 inches in a 24-hour period. Eastern Harris County was hit with up to 12 inches in a six-hour period.
There was minor flooding in Houston and stalled cars could be seen along several streets and freeways.
