Needless to say, it was a test of both surfing and gut level endurance.

Alana Goo for the women had no problem though and finished first in 2:40:11. Maui Kjeldsen, whose name has become synonymous to winning, gapped the entire field in a time of 2:17:17. See the score-board on page B2 for complete results.
