A skydiver who learned she was two weeks pregnant after she survived a fall when her parachute failed is nearing her due date and is set to marry Sunday.

"I have a constant reminder moving around in my belly telling me what a miracle my life is and what a miracle his life is," said Shayna Richardson, 21, who expects to deliver her son June 22.

Richardson thought her life was over on Oct. 9, 2005, when her parachute failed and she hit the pavement going 50 mph in Siloam Springs, Ark.

"My theory is God is not going to let me die that way," Richardson told Fort Smith, Ark., television station KFSM this week.

In the fall — which was videotaped and replayed nationwide — Richardson lost five teeth, shattered several facial bones and broke her pelvis and now has 15 metal plates in her face. She said she would not have jumped had she known she was pregnant.

Richardson and her husband-to-be plan to name the boy Tanner. Richardson, of Joplin, Mo., looks forward to telling her son about her adventure.

"The highlight of my pregnancy is feeling him move and knowing he's there and knowing he's healthy, but he's got to know the whole route so he always knows how special and precious his life is," she said.
