Apple upped the battery life to "all day" on its lightweight MacBook Airs, with the new 11-inch version going from 6 to 9 hours, and the 13-inch MacBook Air from 7 to 12 hours.
Both versions of the computer are available immediately, Apple's Phil Schiller said, as he unveiled laptops at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco Monday. They're now fully "all day" machines he said.
The 11-inch MacBook Air starts at $999; the 13-inch version at $1,099. Both are available immediately.
Both use Intel's new Haswell processors which will also offer "faster graphics, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and flash storage that is up to 45 percent faster than the previous generation," Apple said in a statement.
The 13-inch MacBook Air should be able to get up to 10 hours of iTunes movie playback; the 11-inch model, up to 8 hours.
Apple also introduced a new Mac Pro, which at 9.9 inches tall, is a complete re-do, just a shadow of its former self, size-wise, yet extremely powerful.
