Google is staging a massive comeback for the once-mighty Motorola, with rumors putting the flagship Moto X phone on every major carrier in the US. And with as much as half a billion dollars in advertising, everyone is going to know about it.
The Wall Street Journal's sources say that Motorola is going for broke, both on the phone itself and its launch. Billed as "the first smartphone you can design yourself" in a full-page ad in major newspapers last week, the Moto X is expected to come in a variety of colors and perhaps configurations.
And since it's also assembled (for the most part) in the U.S., it makes sense that Motorola would want it to make a splash here. To that end, it's reportedly also being launched on all four of the major carriers: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint.
It's all going down this fall, although rumors of an earlier launch suggest an announcement event in the next month or two.
