There are zombies in yourTreyarch/Activision

The zombies are returning to the "Call of Duty" franchise, so get ready to grab a gun and get on the bus.

Activision and Treyarch officially revealed the "Black Ops 2 Zombies" multiplayer game modes with a new trailer Wednesday. Check it out here (though, a warning: it is blooooody).

Zombies made their first "Call of Duty" appearance as an Easter egg in "World at War" and they have been a popular addition to the first-person shooter franchise ever since. (Who doesn't love killing zombies on the moon?)

Treyarch has revealed that the forthcoming "Black Ops 2" zombie gameplay will feature new playable characters as well as new types of zombies which will appear in three different zombie modes.

Tranzit mode will allow four players to travel throughout a big, open zombie-filled world via bus or on foot, trying to survive.

"Because it's open and because there are multiple locations in this world where you can play and where the infestation is, there's different strategies about how you can approach it," Treyarch head Mark Lamia told Joystiq

There's also Survival mode, which finds players trying to survive an onslaught of the undead and a brand new Grief mode.

Grief mode has two teams of four players each trying to out-survive each other as zombies attack. While humans can't attack each other in Grief, they can make it more difficult for the humans on the opposing team to survive.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" launches on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC Nov. 13. The game is also coming to the Wii U Nov. 18.
