Yahoo is the latest tech company to release details on the diversity of its workforce. Spoiler alert: It's mostly white, Asian and male, like most tech companies. Yahoo's U.S. workforce is half white, 39 percent Asian, 4 percent Hispanic and 2 percent black, the company revealed in a blog post on Tuesday. Globally, 62 percent of Yahoo staffers are men. The figures are even more striking on the managerial level and the technical side of the company: 92 percent of technical leadership roles are held by whites and Asians. While the numbers are bleak, Yahoo is at least contributing to the conversation about diversity in tech. Silicon Valley firms have for years been under pressure to reveal the race and sex of their staff, and they're just beginning to be more forthcoming. Google revealed its own diversity statistics late last month.
