Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy Todd Kenreck writes: At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime talked to CNBC about the game giant's forthcoming Nintendo 3DS — a handheld device that plays 3-D games without the need for glasses — as well as the company's recent successes. But he was a bit evasive when it came to answering a question about why Nintendo hasn't announced or launched a new version of the Wii. Fils-Aime's response: Nintendo has launched a new Wii — one that comes in the color red. But that doesn't really count as an answer to, say, Kinect does it? The Wii has been hugely successful, no doubt. But it is now four years old and its sales have been on the decline. And with both the PlayStation Move and Xbox's Kinect motion control devices having strong showings in 2010 this is the year Nintendo needs to up its game.
