The Humble Bundle is a hit across the board; it's a chance for players to pick up an assortment of cross- compatible and DRM-free games, via the always popular "pay what you want" pricing structure. And developers enjoy exposure and a considerable profit margin (despite their offerings going for less than the original asking price).
The latest from the Humble Bundle brings a few popular iOS games to Android users at long last, making the number of platforms up to four, alongside PC, Mac, and Linux. It's the second time such a bunch has been provided. It's also the first time certain games are finally appearing on the open source desktop operating system as well:
Of the four games that makes up the primary package, "Canabalt" is perhaps most notable. As one of indie gaming's first iPhone success stories, "Canabalt's" development and success has been detailed heavily by journalists, and even discussed at game design universities.
The game has been slightly tweaked over the years, but the Android version contains dramatic updates, including two-player mode and support for 3D displays. "Swords & Soldiers" is offered as well, provided one puts down more than the average amount being pledged: $6.29.
