There's no shortage of options when it comes to storing your photos and video online, but if none of them have been your cup of tea so far, there's a new option from Amazon — and a second one, if you're on AT&T.
Both offer 5GB of free space into which to upload your media, but Amazon's Cloud Drive Photos and AT&T's Locker have some key differences, apart of course from their look and feel.
For one thing, the AT&T option is only available to paying AT&T customers — which is too bad, because it offers plenty of functionality out of the box. You can upload photos, video and music to your Locker, though that means you may fill up your 5GB rather quickly (more is available for a monthly price, for example $10 a year for 20GB).
Amazon's app is an extension of its main Cloud Drive service, which means that 5GB you get for photos is shared with your other documents and files. So you may feel the pinch spacewise there as well — but it's also nice to have everything in one place.
Both can be downloaded from the Google Play Store: Amazon Cloud Drive Photos here, and AT&T Locker here.
Whichever you choose, you can set photos to be uploaded automatically, and there are ways to email or share them directly from the app. Early user reviews suggest there are a few kinks to be worked out, though, so you may want to wait a week or two for Amazon and AT&T to iron those out if you want the same level of finish found in other photo-backup apps.
