Want to liven up your Facebook profile pic for all to see? Facebook’s got you covered. The company on Wednesday introduced several mobile features that it says will help you "bring your profile to life."
Chief among them is profile videos. That’s right, you’ll soon be able to upload a 7-second looping video clip — think GIF-style — as your profile pic. It'll play (and play, and play) for anyone who visits your profile. "Profile videos will let show a part of yourself you couldn’t before, and add a new dimension to your profile,” Facebook said in a post.
Another new feature is the ability to set up a temporary profile picture that reverts back to your previous profile pic at a time you specify. "When more than 26 million people used our Celebrate Pride filter, it was more apparent than ever that people use their profile picture to show who they are — even if it’s just for a moment in time," Facebook explained.
So, for example, if you want to show off your big birthday bash or your trip to the Bahamas, you can create a temporary profile pic specifically for those occasions.

Facebook is also putting a new customizable space at the top of your profile where you can convey what you want people to know about you. You decide which personal information fields show up there. You can also choose up to five photos to showcase at the top of your profile.
These features and more are being tested right now among "a small number” of iPhone users in the U.K. and California. They’ll be rolled out more broadly "soon," Facebook says.
